The hunt for new jobs is now on a whole new level, as job seekers across the country have taken to job hunting websites like Craigslist to find and connect with prospective employers.
The trend has gained steam since the Federal Reserve’s announcement of its $85 billion stimulus plan, which includes $85 million for the states job-hunting effort.
The states are expected to spend $200 million to $250 million in stimulus funds on job-search efforts.
“I don’t think this will be the last job search site to do this,” said Ryan Gage, CEO of Jobseeker’s Alliance, a group that has been helping job seekers navigate job search sites since 2009.
Gage told The Hill that the site has become a popular tool for job seekers to connect with employers and search for work.
It also has become one of the sites where job seekers can find information on job fairs, networking events, and more.
